It is impossible to imagine modern education without ICT. It will take a little more time and the concept of traditional learning will unavoidably include such tools as e-courses, e-libraries, e-tutorial and the most up-to-date technologies for the knowledge transfer.

The settled approaches and techniques and, most importantly, the needs of modern students have been changing, and it is absolutely impossible not to react to these changes. Under conditions of progressing modern information society these shifts are quite natural but any transition to something new is usually a long and complicated process, and implementation of innovations in education is not an exception.

E-Learning Russia is a project created specially for educational institutions, and its purpose is to give answers to the most important questions of modern education.

The project is realized in three ways: International Education Forum, Exhibition, and Magazine.

The organizers are the State Duma (Russian Parliament) Committee on Education, Expert Council for e-Learning and Information Technologies in Education under the mentioned Committee as well as International Consortium “e-University” the core entity of which is MESI.

International Education Forum “e-Learning Russia: e-Learning Opportunities Today“

June, 3 – 4 2010, Moscow

During two days researchers and practitioners, colleagues with wide experience and those who only start their way in e-learning, students and teachers, policy-makers in education and ICT professionals will share experience, discuss problems, search for decisions, laugh at funny things in e-learning and ultimately acquire knowledge essential for enhancement of e-learning within and without educational system.

Key questions to be considered:

To reveal the alterations that e-learning implementation brings to educational institutions. To discuss what new processes and models should be added and which of the existing ones should be modified.
To consider how the competences of a teacher adjust with active use of information technology in education.
To find out how e-learning implementation transforms student’s life and learning experience.
To demonstrate what modern teaching materials are and why the success of e-learning so strongly depends on their quality.
To examine and understand how e-learning opens new opportunities for cooperation between companies and educational institutions.

And certainly it is impossible to imagine e-learning without technical component. For that reason the International Education Forum E-Learning Russia will comprise sections for discussion of various applications and free tools. The program will be enriched by additional interactive events such as dialogues with experts, brainstorm session, etc.

Exhibition “e-Learning Russia: e-Learning Opportunities Today“

The attendees may observe the ways of implementation of ICT in education, learn about innovations in Russian Universities and perceive what e-learning is from those who do it. The exhibition is free for attendance by visitors – students, teachers, ICT specialists, policy-makers and everyone who is interested in it.
